To provide water-based ink for inkjet recording excellent in delivery reliability and ink filtration property while satisfying printing density, to provide a pigment dispersion used for the ink, and to provide a method for efficiently producing the pigment dispersion for inkjet recording.
The production method of a pigment dispersion for ink jet recording has a step I of dispersing a self-dispersion type pigment having an amount of a carboxy group of 200-750 mol/g at shearing stress of 0.01 MPa or higher, a step II of separating the dispersion to a supernatant and a precipitate by centrifugal-separating the dispersion obtained in the step I, and the step III of filtering the supernatant obtained in the step II. The pigment dispersion obtained by the production method and the water-based ink for inkjet recording containing the pigment dispersion are also provided.
