Abstract:
To provide a lubricating liquid for a gear device capable of smoothly operating a gear type power transmission mechanism, preventing environmental pollution caused by leakage of lubricating liquid, preventing occurrence of a fire, and easily discarding the used lubricating liquid.SOLUTION: A gear type speed reducer 8 lubricated with an aqueous lubricating liquid comprises a housing 10, a parallel gear mechanism disposed in the housing 10 and having first to eighth gears 15 to 22 meshed with each other, an input shaft 11 connected to the first gear 15, an output shaft 9 connected to the eighth gear 22, and a lubricant supply device 30 for supplying the aqueous lubricant to the parallel gear mechanism. The aqueous lubricating liquid contains water and sodium polyacrylate, the amount of sodium polyacrylate to water in the aqueous lubricating liquid is in the range of 1 to 5 mass%, and the hydrogen ion exponent of the aqueous lubricating liquid is in the range of pH 7 to pH 11 (preferably is within the range of pH 8 to pH 10).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
