Abstract:
To provide a water-based pigment dispersion that has high storage stability, is used in water-based ink to show high re-dispersibility, and can improve image density even in inkjet recording onto plain paper, a water-based ink containing the same, and a method for producing a water-based pigment dispersion.SOLUTION: A water-based pigment dispersion has a polymer (A) having a crosslinked structure of a water-insoluble polymer having a carboxy group (a) and a polyfunctional epoxy compound, and a pigment. At least some of carboxy groups of the polymer (A) are neutralized with an alkali metal compound, and [1] the water-insoluble polymer (a) has an acid value of 180-320 mgKOH/g and [2] the amount of the alkali metal compound to the pigment is 0.07-0.19 in the case of organic pigment or 0.15-0.45 in the case of carbon black.SELECTED DRAWING: None
