Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hardenable water-based resin composition that can be hardened by conventional hardening techniques, for example, heat-drying or irradiation with electron beams or ultraviolet rays.
SOLUTION: This water-based resin composition is prepared by dissolving or dispersing (A) a (meth)acrylic liquid resin and (B) a water-soluble (meth) acrylic monomer at an A/B weight ratio of 1/99-60/40. The liquid resin is prepared by polymerizing 40-100wt.% of an alkylene glycol (meth)acrylate monomer of the formula: CH=C(R1)COO(CnH2nO)mR2 (R1 is H or methyl, R2 is a 1-5C alkyl or phenyl group; n is an integer of 1-3, m is 3-25 integer) and 0-60wt.% of other polymerizable vinyl compounds and the resultant polymer has a number- average molecular weight of 10,000-200,000 and a viscosity of 1-10,000 poise (50°C).
