To provide a water lubrication type compressor carrying out reliability improvement and life elongation.
The water circulation type compressor includes a compressor 1 compressing intake air and discharging it along with supplied lubrication water, a storage part 3 communicated with a discharge port of the compressor 1 and storing water separated from the compressed air discharged by the compressor 1, a water circulation path 12 circulating water from the storage part 3 to a water lubrication part of a compressor 1 interior, a water cooler 11 disposed in the water circulation path 12 and higher than the water lubrication part to cool circulated water, and an opening and closing means 12d arranged in the water circulation path between the water cooler 11 and the water lubrication part. By this configuration, water can be supplied to a portion needing lubrication from the water cooler 11 without using high pressure air in compression operation. Accordingly, lubrication, cooling of necessary portions are made possible even at compressor starting, and reliability improvement and life elongation can be attained.
