To provide a water closet which enables a water level of water stored in a bowl to reach a predetermined low water level in a short period of time without reference to the pressure of tap water.
This water closet comprises: a water closet body 2 which is equipped with the bowl 12, a rim spout 18 and a jet spout 16 for ejecting flushing water, and a drain trap pipeline 14; a water storage tank 20; flushing water supply means 34 and 36 for supplying the flushing water to the rim spout and replenishing the water storage tank with the flushing water; a pressure pump 22 which supplies the flushing water in the water storage tank to the jet spout by pressurizing the flushing water; and a stored-water-level adjusting means 62 for adjusting the water level of the stored water in the bowl to predetermined low water levels (levels B and C) by ejecting the water to the drain trap pipeline 14 from the jet spout so as to start siphonage, stopping the pressure pump after the start of the siphonage, and supplying a predetermined quantity of flushing water to the jet spout by virtue of rotation brought about by an inertial force of a rotary portion 80 of the pressure pump at the stop of the pressure pump.
