Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent the adhesion of rainwater to other parts by constituting a water collecting bag of a bag body consisting of a waterproof sheet material for packaging the parts wet with rain exclusive of the part of the handle of a closed umbrella and a water collecting and draining mechanism disposed in the lower bottom of this bag body. CONSTITUTION: The water collecting bag of the umbrella consists of the bag body 1 and a cylindrical water collecting vessel 2 mounted at the lower part of the bag body. The bag body 1 is made of a plant fiber or soft plastic cloth subjected to waterproofing and houses the parts exclusive of the handle (b) of the umbrella (a). The water collecting vessel 2 consists of a hollow cylindrical main body 21 and an external annular body 22 screwed to its bottom end. These members are made of materials having rustproof properties and adequate strength. The hollow part 24 of the main body 21 is tapered to facilitate the insertion of the front end (c) of the umbrella (a). Plural longitudinal grooves 27 are formed in a receptive hole 26. The rainwater passes these longitudinal grooves 27 and falls downward. The space between the bottom of the external annular body 22 and the lower part of the main body 21 is a water collecting part 30 where the rainwater dropped from above is accumulated. The water of water collecting part 30 is discharged outside through a drain hole 31.
