PURPOSE: To simplify construction and to improve cooling efficiency by the constitution consisting in passing cooling water to the cooling water holes, which are provided to molding blocks having cavity forming surfaces on the front faces and are opened to the rear surfaces thereof, from cooling blocks in tight contact with the rear surfaces thereof.
CONSTITUTION: The water-cooled metallic mold is constituted of the molding block 21, 22 having the cavity forming surfaces a1, a2 on the front surfaces and the 1st and 2nd cooling blocks 31 which contact respectively tightly with the entire part of the rear surfaces thereof. The plural cooling water holes 12 which open to the rear surface of the block 21 are provided to said block 21. On the other hand, plural vertical holes 51, 52 and horizontal holes 61, 62 are provided to the block 31 to constitute a water feed system 4a and a drain system 4b. The cooling water introduced from a feed hole 8 into the feed system 4a is supplied through a communicating hole 7 and a conduit 13 into the holes 12 to cool the entire part of the block 21 and thereafter the cooling water flows through the outside of the conduit 13 and between the inside walls of the holes 12 and communicating holes 11 into the drain system 4b from which the water is discharged through a horizontal hole 9 to be used exclusively for draining and a drain hole 10 to the outside.
