Abstract:
To provide a cutoff device and a cutoff method capable of cutting off water in a canal even where no guide grooves on both of canal walls are installed, as well as facilitating workability even when cutoff members are subjected to buoyant force in water.SOLUTION: A cutoff device 1 is provided with: support poles 10a to 10c installed on a canal; a plurality of cutoff members 20a to 20f stacked on the canal; and assembling jigs 30a to 30c used upon stacking the cutoff members 20a to 20f. The assembling jigs 30a to 30c having holes formed in which the support poles 10a to 10c are inserted comprise: attachment part attached rotatably on the support poles 10a to 10c through the holes and movably in a longitudinal direction of the support poles 10a to 10c; and retaining plates retaining the cutoff members 20a to 20f through protruding directly or indirectly from the attachment parts.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
