Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water cutoff flexible coupling to provide a stable watertight property and to provide a mounting method thereof.
SOLUTION: In a water cutoff flexible coupling used for insertion of a pipe 2 in a mounting hole formed in a manhole body 1 and connection therebetween, a water cutoff flexible coupling body 12 is formed of a material having elasticity and formed in a shape consisting of a cylinder part 13 making contact with a manhole drilled surface 3; a cylinder part 15 making contact with the pipe 2; and a conical coupling part 14 to interconnect the two cylinder parts. A sealant 11 is arranged at the cylinder part 13 on the manhole drilled surface side of a coupling body 12, and a water cutoff protrusion 10 is formed on one side or both sides of the sealant 11. By expanding an expansion band 16 arranged on the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder part of the back of the sealant, the cutoff protrusion 10 and the sealant 11 are contact-bonded to the manhole drilled surface 3 and the sealant 11 is contact-bonded to the cutoff protrusion 10 and deformed enough to prevent the occurrence of protrusion and effects cutoff.
