To provide a water-dispersible resin composition having excellent rust preventive properties, adhesiveness to a metal, adhesiveness to a finish coating material such as an alkyd coating material and a urethane foam, water resistance, boiling water resistance, alkali resistance, blocking resistance and slipperiness.
The water-dispersible resin composition contains a copolymer resin emulsion obtained by subjecting an unsaturated monomer mixture comprising (a) a polymerizable unsaturated monomer free from an epoxy group, an acid group, a hydroxy group and a hydrolyzable silyl group, (b) a polymerizable unsaturated monomer having the epoxy group, (c) a polymerizable unsaturated monomer having the acid group, (d) a polymerizable unsaturated monomer having the hydroxy group and (e) a polymerizable unsaturated monomer having the hydrolyzable silyl group to an emulsion polymerization. The copolymer resin has ≥20°C glass transition temperature.
