Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the water dissolving agent for gasoline, having excellent rust proofness, by adding a specific ratio of benzoic acid and a diethanolamine salt to a monovalent lower alcohol as the main component.

CONSTITUTION: One hundred pts.wt. C1WC3 monovalent alcohol, e.g., ethanol, isopropanol, etc., is mixed with 0.2W2pts.wt. benzoic acid and diethanolamine salt to obtain a water dissolvent agent for gasoline. The water dissolvent agent composed of a monovalent lower alcohol as the main component, which is capable of dissolving moisture present in gasoline, can exhibit excellent rust proofness for gasoline tanks.
