Abstract:
To provide a water hammer arrestor structure having simple and lower-cost construction for suppressing damage to a pipe due to water hammer.
At a required position in a first water supply pipe 42 connected to an external water system, an on-off valve 44 is provided for opening/closing the first water supply pipe 42. In a flow-in port of the on-off valve 44 to which the first water supply pipe 42 is connected, a filter 48 is arranged which has a mesh portion 52 formed of an ester elastomer for developing rubber elasticity. The mesh portion 52 is elastically deformed by pressure waves generated in closing the on-off valve 44 to absorb the energy of the pressure waves.
