Title:
WATER INTAKE PART STRUCTURE IN WATER JET SHIP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08324491
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To sufficiently take seawater into intake ports by respectively forming the intake ports on bottom surface on both sides of a hull body part, and providing fin parts on both sides of respective intake ports in the horizontal direction, in a catamaran type water jet ship.

CONSTITUTION: In a catamaran-type water jet ship to be propelled by sucking seawater from an intake port 2 provided on the bottom of a hull and ejecting seawater from an ejection port on the rear part, respective hull body parts 1 are formed into a V shape in section, and the width of the bottom is narrowed. An elliptic intake port 2 for sucking seawater for propulsion is provided in the specified position on the bottom surface of the hull body part 1, and a plate-like fin part 3 having the specified width and the specified length is horizontally attached so as to project from both sides of the intake port 2 in the horizontally direction. Therefore, pressure on just side parts of the intake port 2, namely, on both sides of the bottom is prevented from being decreased, and quantities of weawater to be taken from the intake port 2 can be sufficiently secured.
