Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method ideal for applying water jet peening(WJP) efficiently and uniformly to the end part of a small diameter pipe body. SOLUTION: A center shaft 20 is provided at the tip part of a mast 17, and a disc-like nozzle 1 is rotatably fitted to the center shaft 20. In this nozzle 1, a jet 25 for jetting water jet 3 for WJP is opened in an inclined direction to the axial direction of the center shaft 20, and a jet (21a) for jetting dummy water jet 21 for reducing reaction is opened on the opposite side. The center shaft 20 is made to coincide with the center of a contact part of a water level measuring nozzle body 9 of a pressure container body 6, a workpiece, and while driving a belt 22a, wound around a rotating member (22b), to drive the nozzle 1, high pressure water fed through a pressure hose 14 is jetted from the nozzle 1.
