Abstract:
PURPOSE: To carry out machining, cutting, boring, or the like with a water jet effectively and with a high performance even the work is conducted in a highly viscous water, sea water, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A water jet nozzle is structured with a double tube discharge hole, where a compressed air discharge hole 2 around a water discharge hole 1 of an inner pipe for discharging a high pressure water, and equipped with a ring form slit 5 to supply compressed air to the nozzle discharge hole and gradually reducing inner wall surfaces 6 directed from the slit 5 to the compressed air discharge hole 2, and the slit 5 and inner wall surfaces 6 constitute a Coanda spiral air stream producing area. Even the water discharge hole part of the inner pipe is provided with a ring form slit 51 for supplying high pressure water and gradually reducing inner wall surfaces 61 directed to the discharge hole 1, and thereby a Coanda spiral flow producing area of high pressure water is formed.
