Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water jet propeller capable of preventing water from coming into contact with an impeller shaft.
SOLUTION: This water jet propeller is provided with an impeller 32 arranged rotatably inside a stator 31 forming a flow passage 18 and a waterproof seal 37 provided between a collar 40 supported rotatably in the stator and provided at the outer periphery of the impeller shaft 35 connected with the impeller and the stator. The collar 40 is constituted integrally with the impeller 32. The impeller shaft 35 is connected with a rear part of the impeller by screw-fitting. A drive shaft 22 is connected with a front part of the impeller by spline-connection. A buffer body 50 for a rear end of the drive shaft is provided between a front end of the impeller shaft in the impeller and a rear end of the drive shaft. Moreover, an outer peripheral part of the buffer body is formed into such shape that allows escape of air toward a drive shaft side from an impeller shaft side when screw-fitting the impeller shaft.
