Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water jet propulsion device capable of preventing generation of vortex flow around rotational axis of an impeller and improving operation efficiency.SOLUTION: A water jet propulsion device comprises an impeller 5 rotating on rotational axis 4, a jet flow path 11 which extends to upstream side along with the rotational axis 4 and in which the impeller 5 is built in; a draw flow path 10 connected to upstream side of the jet flow path 11, comprising a curved flow path 10b extending to upstream side with an inclination relative to rotational axis 4, and introducing water W from outside of a ship body 2 to a jet flow path 11; a straightening plate 13 extending from inner peripheral surface of the draw flow path 10 toward the rotational axis 4 at the opposite side of, with an interposed rotational axis 4, the upstream side at which the curved flow path 10b of the draw flow path 10. The straightening plate 13 comprises a guide surface 14 positioned on a virtual surface continuous to the surface of the rotational axis 4 or axis cover 4b of rotational axis 4 so as to guide water W flowing along with surface of the rotational axis.
