To provide a water level detector which detects abnormal rise of water level and occurring of leakage.
Ends 2a, 3a of first and second electrodes 2, 3 which are bent almost in a V-shaped are installed in a water tank, so that the tips of the ends 2a, 3a are sunk in the water if the water tank is filled with water because of abnormal rise of the water level or occurring of leakage. Connectors 2b, 2c, 3b, 3c are installed on both ends of forked first and second electrodes 2, 3, and are respectively connected to terminals A-D of a detecting circuit 5 through electric wires 4. The first electrode 2 is connected to a direct current power supply Vcc through first and second resistors R1, R2, and the second electrode 3 is connected to the direct current power supply Vcc through a third resistor R3. First and second connecting detecting circuits 7a, 7b determine the connecting state of first and second electrodes 2, 3 based on electric potentials of terminals B, D, and a leakage detecting circuit 6 determines abnormal rise of the water level or occurring of leakage from the electric potential of the terminal A.
