Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the deterioration in the vertical response characteristic of frequency cuased by the interpolation processing by changing each interpola tion coefficient when the horizontal lines of three chrominance signals of differ ent phases are interpolated.
CONSTITUTION: The R, G and B output signals received from a solid state image pickup element part 101 are turned into the digital signals through the analog signal processing and the A/D conversion processing. These digital signals undergo the RGB signal processing through a digital processing circuit 106 and are inputted to a field memory circuit 107. These input signals undergo an interpolating operation through a field memory control circuit 108, an electronic zoom circuit 109, and electronic zoom control circuit 110. That is, a drive control circuit 103 controls an image pickup element driving circuit 102 to set the vertical phases of three chroma signals obtained form the part 101 at different levels. Thus it is possible to reduce the deterioration of the vertical frequencey response characteristic of an output line. The interpolation processing is applied to the chrominance signals C1, C2 and C3 with different coefficeints respectively.
