Abstract:
To provide a water paint composition using a biodegradable material originating from biomass and having excellent coating film performance of water resistance, alkali resistance, wear resistance, weatherability and the like.
The water paint composition includes (A) a carboxy group-containing aqueous resin such as an acrylic resin, a polyester resin and a urethane resin, (B) a carboxy group-containing modified starch and (C) a curing agent having a functional group curably reacting with the carboxy group, such as a carbodiimide compound, an oxazoline compound, an epoxy compound and a metal chelate compound.
