Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce an inexpensive water-permeable block using 100% incinerated ash of a sewage sludge.

CONSTITUTION: This water-permeable block is a baked product of a press formed molding prepared by forming a granular molding group comprising an incinerated ash of a sewage sludge into a prescribed shape. The water permeation coefficient of the baked product is Z 0.01cm/sec and the bending strength thereof is ≥30kgf/cm2. The block is obtained by molding a kneaded material containing 10-20wt.% water and 0.5-1wt.% organic binder added to 100wt.% polymeric incinerated ash into a granular shape with a roll type compression granulating molding machine, pressing the formed granular molding group into a prescribed shape under a pressure within the range of ≥300 and ≤700kgf/ cm2 and baking the press molding in an oxidizing atmosphere at 950-1100°C baking temperature.
