Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inhibit water exposure of an endless transmission belt without attaching a separate cover in a water exposure reduction structure of a vehicle engine.SOLUTION: A transverse-mounted engine 1 which is disposed so as to be located adjacent to a drive shaft 101 includes: an engine body 10 having a crank shaft 15; a first pipe 73 connected with the engine body 10 and extending so as to allow an engine coolant to circulate therein; and an auxiliary machine drive system 60. The auxiliary machine drive system 60 has an endless outer belt 69b wound between a crank shaft pulley 65 and an alternator drive pulley 61. A part of the first pipe 73 forms a water exposure prevention body which is disposed so as to be positioned between the drive shaft 101 and the outer belt 69b and overlap with the outer belt 69b when viewed from the vehicle front or rear side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
