This water purification apparatus is equipped with a container 101 having a water passing chamber 100, a water supply tool 104 for supplying water to the water passing chamber 100, a filter material 1 for purifying water supplied to the water passing chamber 100, and water delivery tool 105 for delivering water purified by the filter material 1. The filter material 1 comprises a first filter material and a second filter material arranged in parallel. One of the first and second filter materials, 10A and 10B, comprises an active carbon filter having a relatively small average micropore size and a relatively small water delivery capacity. The other one of the first and second filter materials, 10A and 10B, comprises an active carbon filter having a relatively large average micropore size and a relatively large water delivery capacity in comparison with the former one.
