Abstract:
To reduce infection risk posed by disease-causing protists in an flocculating and settling filter system of a water purifying plant.
In this purifier having a chemical mixing basin 2, a floc forming basin 5, a settling basin, and a sand filter bed 8, the presence or absence of disease-causing protists is detected for filtered water of the sand filter bed 8, and on appearance of the disease-causing protists, the filtered water is fed to a membrane filter 17 to subject it to membrane filtration. In this way, infection risk posed by the disease-causing protists can be reduced.
