Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for recovering water, in each of which waste water containing scale components, organic matter, inorganic ions or the like, particularly, the waste water such as human body excretion and domestic waste water generated in a closed space of a nuclear shelter, a disaster shelter, a space station, or a manned spacecraft and a lunar base of a moon/Mars mission is treated efficiently in the apparatus having a simple constitution to recover water.SOLUTION: The method for recovering water comprises the steps of: removing a hardness component from such the water to be treated as the human body excretion in a softening unit 1; decomposing/removing organic matter, urea, ammonia or the like by electrolysis in an electrolysis unit 2 to obtain electrolyzed water; desalinating the electrolyzed water in a first electrodialysis unit 3 for desalination to obtain product water and a salt content-concentrated solution; and treating the salt content-concentrated solution in a second electrodialysis unit 4 for producing acid/alkali to produce desalinated water, an acid solution and an alkaline solution. The acid solution is utilized as a regenerating agent of the softening unit 1 and the alkaline solution is utilized as a Na shaping agent of the softening unit 1. The desalinated water is treated in the first electrodialysis unit 3 for desalination.
