To obtain a rubber composition having water repellency, which can adhere and exhibits excellent rubber elasticity, free from deterioration of water repellency, adhesion properties and physical properties of a rubber with time.
A rubber compassion is obtained by vulcanizing a mixture of (A) an unvulcanized rubber, (B) a silicone compound and/or a fluorinated compound, (C) a compound having a boiling point of not less than the vulcanizing temperature of a rubber, selected from an aldehyde compound, a compound having a ketone group, a compound having an ester linkage, a compound having an amide linkage and (D) a reactive catalyst selected from any of alkaline earth metals or an aluminum hydroxide. It is preferable that, based on 100 pts.wt. of the component (A), the rubber composition contains 3-50 pts.wt. of the component (B), 0.1-5 pts.wt. of the component (C) and 1-10 pts.wt. of the component (D).
