Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce water sealing pressure by connecting a deaerator to each rotor balance chamber provided between respective shaft sealing sections and water sealing decompression sections at the intake and discharge sides of a feed water pump for a barrel type multiple stage turbine system boiler. CONSTITUTION:Water boosted by a booster pump 1 is supplied from a deaerator 23 to a feed water pump 2 for a barrel type multiple stage turbine system boiler and sealed water is supplied to shaft sealing sections at both ends of the intake and discharge side through a piping 20 and respective flow paths 20a, 20b. In this case the intake side of said pump 2 is provided with a rotor balance chamber 21 in the same way as the discharge side. The rotor balance chamber 21 is formed between a shaft sealing section to which a floating ring 8 is attached and water sealing decompression section consisting of a decompressive bushing 14 and sleeve 15 communicating to the interior of the pump. Each of said chambers 21 is connected to the deaerator 23 through flow paths 22a, 22b and a common piping 22 provided in each casing, and pressure in each chamber 21 is reduced to the internal pressure in the deaerator 23.
