Abstract:

To provide a water softener which does not require supplying a medical agent or the like, eliminates the maintenance, and reduces waste water generated in order to obtain soft water.

The water softener includes hardness component precipitation means (13, 15) for precipitating hardness components contained in water, and a filtration means 16. The soft water is generated by removing the hardness components, precipitated in the hardness component precipitation means (13, 15), by the filtration means 16. By physically removing the hardness components in the water by the filtration means 16 after precipitating in the hardness component precipitation means (13, 15), the maintenance-free water softener is provided which does not require supplying the medical agent or the like.
