Abstract:
To provide a water-soluble yellow pigment (compound) that has high color development, in which the solubility to water is high, and that is excellent in the chroma of a recorded image, and to provide a yellow ink composition containing the same for various recordings, and for inkjet recording especially.
The water-soluble yellow pigment is a water-soluble azo compound or its salt shown by formula (1). In the formula, Q is a halogen atom; x denotes the integer from 2 to 4; and a group A denotes a methyl (or ethyl) carboxymethyl amino, proline residue.
