Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-soluble yellow pigment (compound) that is high in solubility in water and excellent in various fastness such as water resistance, moisture resistance, ozone gas resistance, abrasion resistance and light resistance, especially excellent in color development (print density) and chroma, and a yellow ink composition for various recordings, especially inkjet recording, containing the same.SOLUTION: This invention provides a water-soluble azo compound represented by formula (1) or salt thereof, where P and Q each independently represent a halogen atom, x represents an integer of 2-4, and R represents a hydrogen atom, or a C1-C4 alkyl group.
