To provide a water-soluble complex pigment capable of forming an image having light resistance, ozone resistance, and high chromaticness, to provide an aqueous recording liquid, especially an inkjet recording liquid, given by using the pigment, to provide an inkset comprising the recording liquid, and to provide an inkjet recording method.
This water-soluble complex pigment is formed out of an azo compound expressed by general formula (1) (A1 is a five-membered to seven-membered heteromonocyclic ring which contains three or four heteroatoms in ring-composing atoms or a condensed heterocyclic ring containing the heteromonocyclic ring, may be arbitrarily substituted, and is such a group that a site adjacent to carbon atom combining with azo group does not have hydroxy; ring X1 is a condensed heterocyclic ring containing a six-membered heterocyclic ring, wherein the six-membered heterocyclic ring combines with the azo group, and may be arbitrarily substituted; and R1 and R2 are each H or a monovalent substituent) or its tautomer and a transition metal ion. The aqueous recording liquid, especially the inkjet recording liquid, contains the pigment. The ink set comprises the recording liquid. The inkjet recording method comprises using the recording liquid.
