PURPOSE: To obtain a novel compound useful for dyeing, etc., polyamide fibers, etc., which yields an auburn or brown level dyeing and shows a good fastness to daylight and fastness to hypochlorite bleaching.

CONSTITUTION: The compound is a compound of formula I (wherein R is H or sulfone; R' is hydroxy, methoxy or ethoxy; M is H or an alkali metal; and the non-fixed sulfo group in the naphthalene residue is in the 6- or 7-position), e.g. a compound of formula II. Here, the compound of the formula I is obtained by reacting an aminodisazo compound with a cyanuric chloride.
