Abstract:

To provide a water-soluble minoxidil composition which is used for the treatment of alopecia and calvities, contains water as a base and contains substantially no organic solvent.

The minoxidil composition for external use includes minoxidil, water, an absorption promoter, and dissolution promoting molecules, and has a water content reaching 95%. The water-soluble minoxidil composition is apparently improved in percutaneous absorption efficiency compared with famous treatments for alopecia, Rogaine or Regaine.
