Abstract:
To provide a water-soluble paclitaxel composition which can deliver an effective amount of paclitaxel and docetaxel without the defects due to their insolubility and also provide an effective composition of water-soluble paclitaxel having a long half life in the serum and related compounds for the treatments of tumors and autoimmune diseases, for example, chronic rheumatoid arthritis and for the prevention of restenosis of blood vessels which are injured by angioplasty, stenting and the like.
The composition contains an antitumor drug combined with a water-soluble polymer or chelating agent. In addition, the antitumor drug is paclitaxel, docetaxel, ethoposide, teniposide, camptothecin or epothilone.
