Abstract:

To provide pigments and recording solutions that can form recording images having excellent printing quality and image concentration, chroma and color tone, above all, resistance to light and resistance to ozone, when they are used for printing standard paper or inkjet printing paper through a method, for example, inkjet recording or the like.

The recording solution comprises at least water and a water-soluble pigment and the water-soluble pigment is a self-organizable pigment and represented by general formula (1): DYE-(STR)n (wherein DYE is substantially soluble in water and an azo group-free n-valent residual group, when the STR is substituted with a hydrogen atom in the formula (1); STR is substantially water-insoluble, two or more carbon atom-having hydrophobic residual group; n is an integer of 1 or more, in the case where n is an integer of two or more, a plurality of STRs may be identical or different from each other).
