Abstract:
To obtain a water-soluble resin composition excellent in water retention characteristics, toughness, compatibility and film-forming properties, useful for a paper processing material, an adhesive, a fiber processing material, etc., comprising a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin, a polyacrylic acid and methyl cellulose in a specific ratio.
This composition comprises (A) a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin having 300-3,500 polymerization degree and ≥65mol% saponification degree, (B) a polyacrylic acid such as a cross-linking type polyacrylic acid and (C) methyl cellulose as main components in the weight ratio of the components A/C of 99/1 to 1/99 and that of the components A/(A+C) of 0.005 to 0.3.
