Abstract:
To provide a hydrophilic silicone monomer that can be used for the production of contact lens having substantially advantageous wettability and oxygen gas permeability and free from defects associated with a silicone-containing material of the technical field and an expensive surface treatment required of the silicone-containing material.SOLUTION: A macromer has an appropriate number of hydrophilic groups which renders the macromer water-soluble grafted on a siloxane skeleton, and includes a polymerizable functional group grafted to the siloxane skeleton. A water-soluble silicone macromer having a structure of formula (1) is provided.
