PURPOSE: To obtain the subject film consisting of a graft copolymer of N- vinylacetamide, etc., with PVA and excellent in mechanical strength, dissolution property readily to cold water, long term storage stability, alkali resistance and acid resistance and useful as a packaging material, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The thermolastic film consists of (B) (i) a single graft polymer of N-vinylacetamide or (ii) a graft copolymer of N-vinylacetamide and vinyl- based monomer such as (meth)acrylic acid ester or (meth)acrylic acid lower alkyl ester having polyoxyalkylene group with (A) PVA (having preferably 80-95mol.% saponification degree). Furthermore, the ratio of PVA to the total monomer subjected to graft polymerization is preferably (1/1.5) to (10/1) by weight ratio.
