PURPOSE: To provide the titled grinding oil containing specified chlorine compd. and phosphorus compd., surfactant and mineral oil, fatty oil, fatty acid (ester) or synthetic lubricating oil, which causes neither scorching noir cracking in grinding and has neither environmental nor safety problems.
CONSTITUTION: The grinding oil is prepared by blending (A) at least one chlo rine compd. selected from the group comprising (a) 10W25C chlorinated paraffin with a chlorine content of 20W50wt% (b) chlorinated fatty oil and (c) chlorinated fatty acid (deriv.) selected from among chlorinated fatty acid and ester, alkali metal salt, alkanolamine salt and ethylene oxide or propylene oxide adduct thereof, (B) at least one phosphorus compd. of the formulas IWVIII (where R is 4W24C alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, etc.; n is 1W20), (C) surfactant, (D) at least one selected from among mineral oil, fatty oil, fatty acid (ester) and synthetic lubicaring oil and/or (E) water in such a blend ratio that A and B may be each in 1pt.wt. per 100pts.wt. A+B+C(+D).
