To obtain a water-stabilized organosilane compound which is nontoxic, noncombustible, easy to use, economical, and usable over a wide pH range, to obtain a product (compound or composition formed by specific reaction), and to obtain a composition, to provide usage thereof, and to obtain articles prepared by using the above-mentioned compound, product and composition.

This product is obtained by reaction between a compound (a) and a compound (b): (a) an organosilane of the formula RnSiX4-n ((n) is an integer of 0-3; R is a nonhydrolyzable organic group; X is a hydrolyzable group), and (b) a polyol having at least three hydroxyl groups wherein any two of them are separated from each other by at least three interposed atoms.
