To drastically reduce a debris removing frequency in a water tank and hardly causing the deterioration of generation efficiency caused by debris retained by a debris capturing screen, in a water supply system for a hydroelectric power station provided with a water tank, a water conducting path for supplying water in a dam to the water tank, a hydraulic pipeline for feeding water in the water tank to a generator, an intake through which the water tank communicates with the water conducting path, an outlet communicating with the hydraulic pipeline, and the debris capturing screen arranged in the water tank to prevent the debris entered in the water tank from flowing into the outlet.
The debris capturing screen 4 is arranged between an upper part of the outlet of the water tank and the bottom surface of the water tank in a gentle slope which allows the debris entered in the water tank 1 to flow to an upper area of the debris capturing screen by a current from the inlet 11a to the outlet 12a. An overflow part is provided in a position above a high water level of the water tank near the upper area of the debris capturing screen, and a waste way 5 which is connected with the overflow part and leads to an ordinary river is provided.
