Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition which can give a molding improved in the tendency to release a water-containing gel upon absorption of water by using a polymer prepared by synthesizing a water-absorptive resin in a urethane resin and/or a polymer prepared by synthesizing a urethane resin in a dispersion of a water-absorptive resin. CONSTITUTION:A polymer (A) is obtained by polymerizing a mixture of a hydrophilic monomer with a cross-linking agent, a catalyst and optionally starch or a cellulose derivative in a urethane resin or its solution or dispersion at 30-160 deg.C for 1-20hr. Another polymer (B) is obtained by reacting an active hydrogen compound with an organic polyisocyanate in a nonaqueous water-absorptive resin dispersion obtained by dispersing water-absorptive resin particles in a nonaqueous solvent. The title composition comprising the urethane resin and the water-absorptive resin is from polymers A and/or B.
