Title:
WATER TREATING DEVICE CAPABLE OF REGENERATING ACTIVATED CARBON
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3543372
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prolong the service life of activated carbon by regenerating the activated carbon by heating in a water treating device with the electrolytic cell and hollow-fiber membrane filter provided in succession to an activated carbon cartridge and to protect the electrolytic cell and filter from the heat of the hot water and steam generated when the activated carbon is regenerated
CONSTITUTION: A heater 46 is provided to an activated carbon cartridge 34 to heat activated carbon, hence the adsorbate is desorbed, and the activated carbon is regenerated. The cartridge 34 is connected to an electrolytic cell 36 through a temp.-sensitive three-way valve 48. When the heater 46 is actuated, the hot water and steam generated in the cartridge 34 are allowed to bypass the cell 36, discharged from a hose 52 and sent to a tee joint 54. The tee joint 54 contains a trap, and the backflow of the hot water and steam toward the cell 36 from a hose 110 is prevented.
