Title:
WATER TREATMENT APPARATUS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3768128
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment apparatus not exerting effect on the removal capacity of a nitrogen component due to a temperature.
SOLUTION: Water to be treated is circulated through first and second anaerobic filter bed tanks 5 and 10, a contact aeration tank 14, a sedimentation tank 19 and a phosphorus removing electrolytic cell 59. The supernatant liquid of water to be treated in the sedimentation tank 19 flows in a disinfection tank 21 and subsequently sent to a nitrogen removing electrolytic cell 100. A pair of electrodes are provided in the electrolytic cell 100 and halogen ions present in water to be treated are oxidized on an anode side to form halogen gas which is, in turn, reacted with water in water to be treated to form hypohalognous acid. On a cathode side, the nitrogen component in water to be treated is converted to nitrate ions and these nitrate ions are further converted to ammonium ions. Hypohalogenous acid is reacted with ammonium ions and the nitrogen component is converted to nitrogen gas through chloramines.
