Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extremely raise removal ratio for contaminant such as phosphate ions, ammonium ions, a BOD component and coliform bacilli by using granular material or pulverized material of slag oxide, which is obtained in an electric furnace at a low cost, as water treatment material.
SOLUTION: Melt of slag oxide obtained in an electric furnace is pulverized and granulated by a drum fitted with a blade and quenched by water mist sprayed from a spray device to the inside of a quenching chamber. The obtained water treatment material is stored in a vessel. The layers 29-33 of the produced water treatment material are formed in the inside of the vessel 12 of a water treatment device 11 and supported by a perforated supporting plate 34. In the case of treating water to be treated, the valve 15 of an introduction path 13 is opened and a pump 16 is operated to introduce water to be treated into the vessel 12 through a nozzle 14. Water to be treated is successively passed through the first layer 29, the second layer 30, the third layer 31, the fourth layer 32 and the fifth layer 33 in the inside of the vessel 12 and discharged into a water tank 17 from a discharge path 21 by opening a valve 22.
