Abstract:
To provide a technology that achieves both stabilization of carbon dioxide and recovery of microplastics.SOLUTION: An aspect of the invention is a water treatment method that recovers microplastics from water to be treated containing the microplastics and carbon dioxide and stabilizes the carbon dioxide. The water treatment method makes algae having capacity of adsorbing and recovering the microplastics present in the water to be treated, and includes a step for recovering the microplastics from the water to be treated and stabilizing the carbon dioxide in the algae from the water to be treated. The algae secrete an adhesive substance. As for the amount of an adhesive substance secreted by the algae, the adhesive substance secreted to the outside of cells has a volume of 0.25 times or more and 100 times or less relative to the cell volume.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
