Abstract:
Use of water-soluble partial esters of homopolymers and/or copolymers of maleic acid as scale inhibitors, agents for dispersing materials as particles and inhibitors of blocking fouling, in aqueous media, esters in which up to 50 % of the carboxylic groups of the maleic acid polymer have been replaced with specific ester groups and the unesterified carboxylic groups are -CO2M groups, M being hydrogen, an alkali or alkaline-earth metal or an optionally substituted ammonium radical.
