To provide a water treatment system with a high economical efficiency which achieves a high organic matter removal performance by improving an ozone removal efficiency in a water treatment method for removing an organic matter using ozone treatment and biological treatment.
Ozone microbubbles generated in water to be treated by a microbubble generator 1A are injected into an ozone reaction tank 11A. This water to be treated is treated by biofilms formed in a biological activated carbon layer 23 of a biological reaction tank 21A to further decompose and absorb organic matter. As the ozone microbubbles have high oxidizing power and high reactivity, they can efficiently decompose the organic matter, and at the same time denature a biologically hardly decomposable organic matter to a biologically easily decomposable organic matter. Their high reactivity reduces dissolved ozone concentration after the treatment to enable maintaining the healthiness of microorganisms in the biological activated carbon treatment tank 21A. Thereby, the removal efficiency of the organic matter in the water to be treated and maintainability are improved and then the economical efficiency of the water treatment is improved.
