To provide a waterproof member for a cable penetrating section, which has a simple structure and can be inexpensively manufactured.
The waterproof member for the cable penetrating section is used for a waterproof junction box which comprises an openable/closable box body and a lid and in which a circular cable inserting hole formed of a pair of semi-circular cuts formed on cable introduction walls of the box body and the lid respectively are formed on a cable introduction wall. The waterproof member 25 has a structure in which both side edges 26c of a flexible rubber sheet 26 having a shape of developing a truncated conical surface are seamed with, for example, a fastener 27. The developed rubber sheet 26 is put on the cable 11 and both the side edges 26c of the rubber sheet 26 are seamed with the fastener to form a truncated cone. When a slider 27b of the fastener is pulled so that the tapered front end of the truncated conical surface can closely contact the outer circumferential surface of the cable, the watertightness of the outer circumferential surface of the cable is ensured. With a simple structure in which both the side edges 26c of the rubber sheet are seamed with the fastener, the waterproof member can be inexpensively manufactured. Also, the applicable range of outer dimensions of the cables can be increased.
